My 'Three Dreams' illustrated ebook has recently gotten several 5 star reviews on Amazon. Here's one from Grady Harp, who is an Amazon HALL OF FAME TOP 100 REVIEWER....
In this sensitively entertaining book Jeff brings to life his own version of stories we all know and populated his redefined tales with wonderfully bizarre characters. In the first story WHERE THE WILD THINGS ROCK he pays homage to Maurice Sendak's famous children's book WHERE THE WILD THINGS ARE. In Jeff's Alex, the boy who ears a cat suit and made mischief is sent to bed without supper. That night a forest grew in Alex's room until the world was completely altered. The newly named Al-X cruises through the night in his private limo and arrives at a place where the Wild Things (Jimmy Page, Ozzy Osbourne, Edie Van Halen, Jimi Hendrix, Mick Jagger, Janis Joplin, Pete Townsend, Elvis Presley and more) with roars and terrible teeth played their raucous music. Al-X tames them with a magic spell and was made King of the Wild Things, with Al-X joining in the Rock Jam. But Al-X becomes lonely, sends the Wild Things off to bed without supper, departed the saddened Wild Things and returns home - his supper is in his room and is hot!
The second of the Three Dreams is A DAY AT THE BEACH WITH PICASSO, homage to Ray Bradbury's IN A SEASON OF CALM WEATHER. Jeff opens his story with an artist painting nude models on the shore, but there is a lonely artist on the beach, by himself, drawing pictures in the sand. `His life is his art, art is a desert flower' and the pictures Picasso (who is our artist) draws become real at night but as the tide rushes in the art is swept away.
The third dream is THE KING WHO STOLE THE UNIVERSE, this work is a reflection of the Mahogany Rush and Frank Marino song by the same title and is bewitchingly illustrated with elegant graphics telling the tale of a the last knight form the Temple of wisdom who joins the Angel of Fire to save the world from the evil king from the dark kingdom beyond the Bridge of Tears. The king is diabolical and wears a crown of jewels that represent the planets he fooled into selling their sun. But with no further planets to conquer the king beckons death, but the Angel of Fire reveals the last planet - Earth! `Sot it shall be written, that on the day our sun rose for the first time once again, the Lat Knight of the Age is christened the first Knight of the New Age and joined in unity with the Angel of Fire as both transcend into the higher realm of immortal transparency' and thus was born the eternal infinite recreating worlds without end.
Each of these stories is not only well conceived, but the art is stunning and if anyone can draw the attention of serious art critics and audiences alike it is most assuredly Jeff Hopp. This is a `must own' art book for the library. www.amazon.com/dp/B00FXEBDOU
