nice to hear from you....i was curious if you have been ok. I don't think Hannah knows how to get a hold of you. If you want to send a number, I will get it to her. I believe you left a jacket at our house. Yes, over Christmas break would be ok....she has a friend coming in for a week over the holidays and we are all going to Tempe Block party for new years. Yes, I remember you said you wanted a Floatation print. Don't want to sound like a merchant, but it is available at these links: [link]
and as black light poster here: [link]
or on ebay here: [link]
I have a website: you can check out all my stuff and where to get things here: [link]
As you can tell, I've been trying to market things lately.......can't hurt I guess. I actually been selling some stuff......who'd of thunk that.
Anyways....write back.....nice to hear from you......hope your well.....and thanks for writting.
Thanks for putting this in front of my eyes.
I know so many of the people commenting.
I wish I had been pointed in your direction sooner.
I'm glad I'm here to witness all this.
A miracle grows from each layer you craft with open-ended attention to subtle and magnificent wheels coming into focus...
Wow!! That's interesting! I grew up on 84th and Villard. Right next to Vogel park, about 1 mile east of Timmerman Airport.
My dad and step mom went to Samuel Morse. It is quite a small world, sometimes.
I'm starting at UW Milwaukee in January. Hopefully I'll be able to take a painting class or two within the next few years.
I've only worked with acrylics but I'm eager to experiment with oils. I've heard beautiful things about them. The way they blend looks obviously appealing. And the lengthened drying time could be nice. I'm so used to working in layers with acrylics, though. Adapting might be tricky at first.
Lately I've been doing a few fluorescent paintings, but I haven't been able to find any fluorescent oil paints.
I wish I could see this painting in person. 3' X 4' is a pretty good size. I bet it's amazing!
Vogel park was my hangout. I lived right across the street from Timmerman on 91st during grade school....went to Engleberg. Lived on 84th and Hampton before that. Moved to 64th area around high school. I miss the lakefront.....had some great times down there. I was downtown when Marquette won the college championship. I used to go to UWM football games with my dad.......go Panthers!
I worked on it non-stop for a several months, and would return to it every few months for 4 or so more years. Not continuously, but I would get more and more ideas regularly, as I do with many of my pieces....just don't know when to stop sometimes.
thank you. I just got shipped to me the black light poster of the computer enhanced version of this painting.....Floating in Light, and to be honest, I was a bit dissapointed. I think in the computer Floating in Light is a nice image, but for a large poster the original (Floatation) is the way to go. Also, I have been approached by a poster retailer who wants to put my paintings in his online store....he originally wanted to market the black light posters, but the margins were too low and prices in his mind would be too high, so he will be printing standard posters and they will be sold at more typical poster prices ($10-$15 range). So, if cost is a factor, and you still think this one is worthy of a purchase, then you might want to wait a bit. The quality of the black light posters are incredible however.....if more people could actually see an example of buildaposters products, I think his sales would be much higher. Speaking of that, you might want to send them something you have done and turn an image or 2 into posters to check it out. I think your stuff would be great for that.
thanks again for your kind words.
You don't have to have any deals with buildaposter to get posters made. Anyone can send them a jpg or tiff and turn it into a poster. As a featured artist, yes, you do get a royalty for every sale. He only has 8 or so featured artists, which is cool because each artist stands out more. But, the sales are pretty weak.....I think this is mainly due to the fact that the internet has tons and tons of cheap black light posters available and the market is a novelty small one. So I believe my new non-black light vendor will do much better. He is producing a bulk at his cost and I get a pretty good cut of each sale....and since he is putting up an investment, I think he will be more aggressive sales wise as well. Buildaposter is print on demand.....he has no investment, so nothing to lose if no sales are made. We will see, kindof cool getting things moving a bit.
